After lunch today, which consisted of some delicious Parmesan/garlic bread and a big bowl of Soycutash with Kerrygold butter and chile lime seasoning I checked the mail. In addition to the $1.50 Chinesium LCD thermometer/hygrometer I found this:

I had forgotten that I had signed up for a free subscription. I’m already getting R&T and CD, so this is a nice addition. If only I could get Automobile as well; I haven’t read an issue since the days of Ezra Dyer and Jean Jennings, so I don’t know if it’s as good as I remember.

I haven’t been charged or billed in at least 2 years. I think I got put on the distribution list when I did some thing for them a few years ago.

They sent me the auto-renew bill (like 5 times) and I kept putting it off. I hate the auto-renew model... They just sent me another but dropped the price. I finally went ahead and paid it. I probably could’ve waited a little longer and they would’ve dropped it again. They clearly need numbers of subscribers for ad revenue much, much more than they need my subscription dollars.

Thats what I figure is going on with mine. I’ve never seen a bill, I figure they would rather have the numbers up than my $8 a year.
